Prerequisites
Today, we’re going to be showing you how to turn on your location permission to be able to use your Wi-Fi adapter to connect to a recorder using PMI View in Windows. For this video, you’re going to want to make sure you have the latest version of PMI View Windows and the password to your Windows user account. You’re going to want to go ahead and pause the video to make sure you have what you need in order to continue.
Enabling Location Permission in Windows Settings
We’ll be starting within PMI View. If you open PMI View and you get this notification message that says, “Must have location permission to use Wi-Fi adapter,” you’re going to want to head down to your Windows taskbar, and if you don’t already see Settings within your top apps, you’re going to want to type in Settings.
Within your Windows Settings, you’re going to want to head to the shield, which is Privacy & security. Within Privacy & security, you’re going to want to make your way down to App permissions, Location. Now, you have to make sure the option for apps being able to access your precise location is on, like so, and then make sure you go down to PMI View and that its access is enabled.
Verifying the Connection
Once you do that, you’ll be able to select the Wi-Fi adapter and scan for devices. You should see the yellow prompt box disappear.
And that is how you disable or enable Wi-Fi location permission settings for PMI View Windows. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out at 1-800-296-4120 or email us at support@powermonitors.com.
