What You’ll Need
Today, we’re gonna be showing you how to connect your Bolt recorder to an existing WiFi network. You’ll wanna pause at this section of the video to ensure that you have everything you need.
- A Bolt with the latest firmware
- iPhone with the latest iOS date
- An existing WiFi network and the password to the WiFi network
- Your initialization code, which should have came with your Bolt packaging. If you cannot locate this, you may contact us.
Enable WiFi and Bluetooth
Now that we know we have everything we need, let’s start out by making sure we have WiFi and Bluetooth enabled on our iOS device. You’ll want to go to Settings and check and make sure that your WiFi is on as well as your Bluetooth.
Finding Your Device in PMI View
Then we’re gonna want to navigate back to PMI View and make our way to the Nearby tab. Make sure you have Nearby Device Scanning on. Now we’re gonna tap on the box in the top right-hand corner and click Find a Device.
If you have devices in this list, go ahead and click Clear, and then press in the middle of the screen in order to refresh the list. Once your device is found, you’re gonna wanna click on it to start the connection process.
Connecting to the Bolt’s WiFi Network
You will be taken to the device screen and asked if you would like to join the Bolt’s WiFi network. You’re gonna wanna click Join. Now that you’re connected to the Bolt’s access point, you’re gonna wanna press the four bars on the top right corner to open your device menu.
From here, you’re gonna make your way to Settings, and then you’ll be prompted to either enter a password if you’ve already initialized this device, or enter your initialization code that should be included in your packaging, as stated before. But if you can’t find it, you can go ahead and contact us.
Configuring WiFi Settings
Next, click on WiFi Settings and see if your WiFi network shows in the network list. If you do not see your network in the network list, you may add it manually. You would enter the SSID for your network, click Secure Network, then enter the password.
The Bolt will then show you that you have connected successfully by including the WiFi network under Current WiFi. Please note, if you would like your Bolt to report into PQ Canvas while connecting to WiFi, you will have to contact us and have your device pointed at PQ Canvas.
