What You Will Need
Today, we’re going to be showing you how to determine your recorder’s firmware version and check your internal lithium battery level. You will need your recorder, a computer with the latest ProVision installed, and your USB cable. You’re going to want to pause the video here to ensure you have everything you need for this video.
Now that you have everything you need, let’s continue. The battery portion of this video would be for all of our devices that do not have a super capacitor or a super cap.
Accessing Diagnostics in ProVision
Make sure you have your device connected to your PC, and within your device’s tab, you’re gonna want to right-click on the device and navigate down to Meter Display, and then head to Diagnostics.
If you don’t have a device tab, you’re gonna wanna head to the top of ProVision where it says View, and make sure you have a check mark next to Devices. And if you don’t, go ahead and click that. Then you should have this Device tab pop up on your primary window.
Checking Your Lithium Battery Level
Once you have the Diagnostics tab up, you will see over here in the chart, you have Lithium Battery and your Lithium Battery Level. If this gets below 2.7 volts, you’re gonna wanna go ahead and start an RA process to send the recorder in to have the battery replaced.
Checking Your Firmware Version
You’ll also notice at the top, it says Firmware Version. You can use this chart that is located on the Support tab of powermonitors.com to reference in order to ensure that your recorder has the latest firmware before you deploy it to the field.
