The Boomerang Antenna Kit is engineered to improve cellular signal reliability for Boomerang power quality monitors installed in areas where standard antennas struggle to maintain a consistent connection. The core advantage of this kit is the Phantom antenna’s field diversity design. While the other antennas offered for the Boomerang rely on vertical polarization alone, the Phantom antenna combines vertical and horizontal polarization in one compact 2.3″ housing. This dual-polarization approach allows the antenna to pick up signal from multiple orientations that a single-orientation antenna may miss, which is particularly valuable in locations where the cellular signal arrives inconsistently. With 3 dBi of gain in both the US cellular band and the US PCS band, the Phantom antenna supports stronger, more consistent data transmission for remote monitoring applications where dropped connections mean gaps in critical power quality data. The included 18″ TWS240 coax cable, a 50 ohm jumper, is purpose-built to connect the Phantom antenna to the Boomerang unit without adapters: its SMA male connector attaches directly to the Boomerang, while its N-type male connector mates with the antenna’s N-type female connector. Because the kit includes both the antenna and the matched cable, technicians can complete the signal upgrade in the field without sourcing additional parts.
