Introduction to PQ Canvas
PQ Canvas is Power Monitors’s cloud-based power quality solution software. You can view recorded data, see live waveforms from connected devices, and manage device settings and alerts. This state-of-the-art software saves you time and money by letting you investigate right from your office computer or on the go with your mobile device.
Logging In and the Map View
To begin using PQ Canvas, visit pqcanvas.powermonitors.com in any browser and log in with the assigned username and password. You’ll first see a map with all of your configured devices shown and a list of them on the left. There are two options in the upper right corner that allow you to toggle the list or map on or off.
You can sort, filter, or search for individual devices. You can zoom in or out on the map by scrolling up or down or pinching if using a mobile device. Click and drag to move the map around.
Device Information
Clicking on the device icon brings up the name of the device, along with an icon that shows the connectivity status, as well as location coordinates. Clicking on the info icon brings up more details such as the serial number, added date, type of device, number of channels measured, features, and status alerts.
Clicking on the navigation icon centers the device on the map. Clicking the graphs icon brings up the graphs interface. Selecting a graph or report through the device’s icon will refer to the live data file or most current data file if the device is powered off.
Alerts and Account Settings
In the top right-hand corner, you’ll see the alerts and accounts icon. Clicking on Alerts will list the most recent alerts for your devices. Clicking on Account brings up options to view your settings, go full screen, and log out.
The Settings selection brings up further options: profile, notifications, and contact. The Profile option lets you change your email, password, and name. If you’re an account admin, you’ll see the notifications icon. Clicking on this brings up a menu that lets you organize exactly who receives alerts and for what devices.
Click the Add List icon to add a new list and edit the list by clicking the pencil icon. Here you can assign users, determine which devices, alerts, and events are used in the notification list. Contact lets you choose which emails and phone numbers will receive alerts.
Graphs
At the left-hand side of the screen is the main menu bar from which you can select the devices, graphs, reports, and recordings views. Clicking on Graphs will show any graphs you currently have open. If there are none, it will give you a blank canvas with which to add new graphs.
Click on the plus symbol and you can choose a saved recording or connect a device to generate a new graph. You’ll be able to choose from a large selection of voltage, current, power, flicker, harmonics, and distortion graphs. You can add as many as you like and use the organizing options to the upper right to compare up to four graphs at once.
Hover your mouse over the graph to show specific details or toggle the visibility of the graph by clicking its tab. The settings icon on each graph lets you adjust your parameters to even finer details. You can work with plot layers by clicking on the Layers icon and delete individual plots by using the trashcan icon.
Reports and Recordings
The Reports option works in the same fashion as the graphs. You can view all your saved and live recordings in the Recordings view. You can sort, filter, or search through your recordings and generate graphs or reports from a recording by clicking its corresponding icons.
User Management and Contact Information
Finally, if you’re logged in to an administrative account, you can click Users and manage admin rights, change passwords, unlock user accounts, change account info, and delete accounts.
